Terms & Conditions

Effective date: October 25, 2026

1. About These Terms

BallGameRoots.com is operated by Walking West, Inc. (“Walking West,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions govern use of this website and direct bulk purchases of Roots of the Game from Walking West.

If you submit an order request on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to act for that organization.

Individual purchases made directly through Amazon are governed by the terms presented by Amazon for those purchases. Merchandise purchases, when available, are subject to the product, shipping, and return policies presented at checkout.

2. Website Content and Permitted Use

The book text, illustrations, photographs, designs, logos, and other website materials belong to their respective rights holders and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may browse the website, share links, and use materials expressly provided for download in accordance with their accompanying instructions. Other reproduction, distribution, alteration, or commercial use requires permission from the applicable rights holder.

You may not use this website for unlawful activity, submit fraudulent information, interfere with its operation, or attempt unauthorized access.

3. League Fundraising and Organization Bulk Purchasing

3a. Order Minimum and Bulk Ordering Overview

Both programs require a minimum purchase of 25 books.

League Fundraising participants purchase books at a volume discount and independently organize their resale and distribution. Organization Bulk Purchasing participants may purchase books for gifts, awards, recognition, events, or other approved purposes.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, purchases include standard paperback copies only. Personalization, signed copies, gift wrapping, custom inserts, and individual delivery to participating families are not included.

3b. Prices and Quantity Discounts

Current bulk prices are:

  • 25–49 books: $11.99 per book.

  • 50–99 books: $10.99 per book.

  • 100 or more books: $9.99 per book.

Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes and any separately stated shipping charges.

Quantity discounts apply to each accepted order. Separate orders are not combined retroactively to obtain a different price tier unless we agree in writing.

Prices may change for future orders. Changes will not alter a previously accepted, paid order.

The suggested retail price is $14.99 per book. Participating organizations independently determine their resale prices. Fundraising examples are illustrations, not guarantees, and actual proceeds depend on sales, taxes, payment-processing charges, and other expenses.

3c. Order Requests, Invoices, and Payment

Submitting an order-request form does not complete a purchase or reserve production capacity.

We review the requested quantity, destination, timing, and other details before issuing an invoice. Unless the invoice states otherwise, an unpaid invoice expires 30 calendar days after issuance. Expired invoices require reconfirmation before payment.

Full payment is required before we submit the order for production. We currently expect to accept payment through secure Stripe invoice links.

An order is accepted when we have received full payment and sent written order confirmation. If we cannot accept a paid request, we will notify the buyer and refund the payment.

Buyers should review the quantity, product, recipient information, shipping address, taxes, and charges before paying.

3d. Sales Tax and Resale Certificates

Applicable sales tax will be charged on League Fundraising and Organization Bulk Purchasing orders where required by law.

A qualifying purchase for resale may be exempt when the buyer provides a valid, properly completed resale certificate acceptable under applicable law before invoicing. A seller’s permit number or permit copy alone may not be sufficient.

Resale documentation applies only to qualifying purchases intended for resale. It does not automatically exempt books purchased for gifts, awards, giveaways, or the organization’s own use.

Other legally available exemptions require appropriate documentation. Nonprofit or tax-exempt status does not, by itself, establish that every purchase is exempt from sales tax.

The buyer is responsible for providing accurate documentation and meeting its own tax obligations on subsequent sales or use of the books.

3e. Production and Fulfillment

Walking West is the seller. Printing and shipment are arranged through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and its production, fulfillment, and delivery providers.

Manufacturing and transit times vary with order size, demand, destination, and provider availability. Any stated delivery period is an estimate measured from full payment and written order confirmation, unless a different starting point is expressly stated.

A requested event date is not a guaranteed delivery date unless Walking West expressly agrees to that guarantee in writing.

If we cannot meet an applicable shipment commitment, we will provide notice and offer delay-consent, cancellation, and refund options as required by law.

3f. Shipping, Cartons, and Separate Deliveries

Standard shipping arrangements cover delivery to one designated address. The shipping charge or included-shipping offer will be stated on the applicable program page and confirmed on the invoice before payment.

Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and international destinations require a custom shipping quote and confirmation of delivery availability.

Orders may arrive in multiple cartons or separate shipments, on different dates, and with separate tracking information when available. Carton sizes and quantities per carton are determined by the fulfillment provider. We do not guarantee 25 books per carton or any other fixed packing quantity.

Buyers should count all delivered books and compare them with the total ordered, taking account of packages still in transit.

The buyer must provide an accurate delivery address and arrange for receipt of the shipment. Address corrections or redelivery may not be possible after processing begins. Any additional charges attributable to buyer-provided errors will be explained before they are incurred whenever practicable.

3g. International Orders

International orders are subject to destination availability and an approved quote.

The quote or invoice will identify whether customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges, or similar destination charges are included. Any charges identified as the buyer’s responsibility must be paid by the buyer.

Customs processing may affect delivery timing.

3h. Order Changes and Cancellation

Contact us promptly through the website’s Contact form to request a change or cancellation. Changes are effective only when confirmed by Walking West in writing.

Because orders are submitted for production after payment and confirmation, we cannot guarantee that changes or cancellations can be accommodated once processing begins.

This provision does not limit cancellation or refund rights required by applicable law, including rights arising from qualifying shipment delays or our inability to fulfill an order.

3i. Final Sales

Bulk purchases are final sale. We do not accept returns for unsold fundraiser inventory, excess quantities, changed plans, canceled events, or buyer preference.

This policy does not exclude remedies for books received damaged, materially defective, or incorrect, missing quantities, or other remedies required by law.

3j. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Books

Inspect each shipment promptly. Report visible damage, apparent printing defects, incorrect books, or shortages through our website’s Contact form within seven calendar days after delivery of the affected shipment.

Include your invoice number, delivery date, affected quantity, and clear photographs of the issue and packaging. For printing defects, include photographs of the Product ID beneath the barcode on the last interior page when available.

Keep affected books and packaging until we provide instructions. Do not return books to Walking West or Amazon without instructions. If a return is required for an approved claim, we will arrange it at no charge.

We will arrange replacement of verified affected copies, including replacement shipping, at no additional charge. The entire order will be replaced only if the entire order is affected.

Replacement production and delivery are subject to availability. If we cannot supply replacements, we will arrange an appropriate refund for the affected copies and related charges, or another remedy required by law.

Minor production variations that do not materially impair the books are not necessarily defects. We will assess reported issues individually.

For defects not reasonably apparent during initial inspection, contact us promptly after discovery. The seven-day notification request does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

3k. Missing or Delayed Shipments

Contact Walking West if a shipment is overdue, tracking indicates delivery but the package cannot be located, or the total received is less than the quantity ordered after accounting for separate shipments.

We will investigate with the fulfillment provider and arrange replacement, refund, or another appropriate resolution. Please report problems promptly so we can meet the provider’s claim deadlines.

Customers should contact Walking West rather than attempt to resolve our author-copy order directly with Amazon.

3l. Organization Responsibilities

Participating organizations manage their own promotions, customer orders, collections, resale taxes, local distribution, and communications with their purchasers.

Walking West does not guarantee fundraising results or purchase unsold copies back.

A league’s resale margin is separate from any charitable contributions Walking West may make. Participation does not create an agency relationship, partnership, or endorsement.

3m. Downloadable Marketing Materials

Materials expressly provided for program promotion may be used to promote authorized Roots of the Game fundraising activities or bulk-purchase distributions.

Organizations may add their own names, deadlines, ordering instructions, and other details in the designated editable areas. Preserve the supplied book title, credits, and artwork, and follow any accompanying instructions.

These materials may not be sold separately, used for unrelated products, or used to suggest an endorsement or affiliation that has not been authorized. No copyright ownership or font-software license is transferred.

4. Third-Party Services and Privacy

Amazon, Stripe, Squarespace, and other providers operate their own services under their applicable terms and policies.

Order processing may require sharing relevant contact, delivery, and transaction information with service providers. Our Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information.

Submitting an inquiry or order request does not automatically enroll you in marketing communications.

5. Website Availability and Responsibility

We aim to keep website information accurate and current. If a material error affects an order request, we will explain the correction before accepting payment. If discovered afterward, we will contact the buyer to agree on a resolution or provide a refund where appropriate.

To the extent permitted by law, Walking West is not responsible for indirect losses such as anticipated fundraising proceeds or event expenses arising from website interruptions or fulfillment delays. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Updates, Applicable Law, and Contact

Updated terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Changes apply prospectively and do not alter an already accepted order without the buyer’s agreement.

Applicable law governs these terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

For questions, order changes, or bulk order shipment issues, use our Contact Us and include your invoice number when applicable.
